In celebration of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art's 75th anniversary the Museum created a stunning guidebook featuring 75 of the most significant acquisitions of the past 25 years.

The works in 75 in 25: Important Acquisitions at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, 1990–2015 were chosen to showcase the breadth and diversity of SBMA’s permanent collection. Represented are works of modern and contemporary art, photography, artworks of Asia, and more. Browsing the selection, you’ll see work by Eugène Delacroix, Berthe Morisot, Man Ray, Milton Avery, and Anish Kapoor alongside sculptures and objects from ancient China, India, and Rome. The featured artworks are accompanied by short essays written by a variety of art historians, journalists, and scholars from across the United States. Also included in the book is an essay by SBMA Director Larry J. Feinberg chronicling the museum’s history and the curators, collectors, donors, and artists who helped shape the collection.
