Channel raw energy and stitched rebellion with this skull patch by San Francisco based textile artist Ben Venom.  Blending traditional quilting techniques with the attitude of heavy metal, this piece turns classic iconography into something tactile, bold, and unapologetically loud.

Each patch captures the spirit of DIY culture—where worn fabrics, layered textures, and sharp design collide. Whether you’re customizing a jacket, vest, or bag, this patch brings a gritty, handcrafted edge that stands out from mass-produced gear.  Measures 11" in diameter.  Each patch is uniquely designed.

Ben Venom earned his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2007. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the National Folk Museum of Korea, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and other museums and galleries. He has completed artist residencies at MASS MoCA and the de Young Museum and lives and works in San Francisco.

Venom works with repurposed textiles, bringing imagery associated with punk, metal, skateboarding, and counterculture into dialogue with traditional quilting and the comforts of domesticity. Stains, tears, and wear in reclaimed fabrics remain part of the work, allowing the materials’ individual histories to become part of a larger collective narrative.
