Jane Diaz has collaborated with Nepalese silversmiths for approximately 30 years. Her designs are developed through a longstanding creative relationship with craftspeople in Nepal, where traditional metalworking skills continue to be practiced by hand. Working from Diaz’s drawings and ideas, skilled artisans form jewelry from blocks of silver and gold, milling the metal into plates and wire and constructing pieces by hand. Diaz describes her mission as helping sustain these time-honored craft traditions while bringing her own varied inspirations into the designs.
