Buddhi Mudra, or "seal of mental clarity" is a yoga hand gesture to enhance intuition, communication, and mental focus. It balances the water element in the body, aids in decluttering the mind, and facilitates deeper meditation. Deftly blending classical and modern sculpture traditions, Los Angeles based artist Anne Ricketts creates these miniature bronze sculptures as beautiful and affordable art. Each design is first sculpted in clay, and then cast in bronze using a labor-intensive, time-honored technique. The result is an elegant sculpture with a decided weight and richness. Made in California.
Sculptor Anne Ricketts lives and works in Los Angeles. Her expressive bronze sculptures range from palm-sized objects to larger tabletop works and often convey a strong sense of movement. Each piece begins as a hand-carved clay model and is then cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax process, a technique with a history extending thousands of years. Her work draws inspiration from both the human figure and nature.
