These delicately textured baskets are handwoven by artisans in an ethical, fair trade environment in Uganda. Raffia palm and banana fibers are left natural, or dyed in brilliant Pantone colors. Each one of a kind piece takes a few days to complete. Today, baskets and artisan crafts are becoming a pride of the nation.
While exquisite as ready-to-hang wall art, they're also beautiful as a fruit bowl, or to toss keys and mail into on an entryway shelf. Baskets have a hang loop on the back and are approximately 12” x 4". All baskets are handmade with love and vary slightly in color and size.
To avoid fading of the natural fibers, keep dyed baskets out of direct sunlight for long periods of time. Do not submerge in water. If necessary, use a damp cloth to wipe or spot clean. After serving bread or other dried foods, turn the product upside down and shake and tap to release crumbs and residue. Avoid chemicals or detergents.
